It’s been two years since my life turned upside down. I’ve finally found a sense of normalcy playing bass for Code Names, but then he shows up at one of our shows. Everything I thought I’d prepared for comes crashing down. Despite all my hard work, I freeze. My best friend, August, thinks he knows what’s best for me and decides I need a bodyguard without asking my permission first. So, now I’m stuck with a stupidly attractive man who knows exactly which buttons to press. But maybe past all his cocky arrogance, there’s some truth to his pledge.

Day one of freedom from prison, and I’m already breaking rules. First order of business: find a place to live, transportation, and a job. Done. Second order of business: for the next three years of parole, don’t get into trouble. It would be easy if my new job weren’t the definition of it.
